Počas posledného dňa roku 2014 ošetrili v Detskej fakultnej nemocnici s poliklinikou Bratislava (DFNsP) 121 detských pacientov. Ako informovala hovorkyňa nemocnice Dana Kamenická, zdravotný stav 20 z nich si vyžiadal hospitalizáciu.
Pre problémy nechirurgického charakteru ošetrili podľa Kamenickej 78 detí, pričom najčastejšie to bolo pre akútne ochorenia dolných dýchacích ciest. 43 detí ošetrili pre problémy chirurgického charakteru. Oproti minulému roku, keď lekári ošetrili v súvislosti s používaním zábavnej pyrotechniky jedno dieťa, tento rok sa zranilo až sedem detí, z toho šesť chlapcov a jedno dievča. Zdravotný stav troch z týchto detí si vyžiadal hospitalizáciu. Jedno dieťa utrpelo poranenia v tvárovej časti a dve deti závažné poranenia rúk s nutnosťou operačnej liečby, minimálne v jednom prípade s trvalými následkami. V súvislosti s konzumáciou alkoholu ošetrili lekári DFNsP tri deti. Jedno dieťa pre požitie alkoholu v kombinácii s inými návykovými látkami a súvisiacim úrazom hlavy hospitalizovali.
